Fresh Perspectives on Fall — Juxtaposing Seasonal and Seasonless

Last week I introduced a short series of “Fresh Perspectives on Fall”, highlighting my purpose in sharing some of my new ways of seeing this season.  I began this series by showing an overlap of summer and winter.  This week I focus some attention on an interesting juxtaposition between the seasonal and the seasonless.

Aspens are one of the more beautiful trees in this world.  There are many things to like about them.  The leaves have a beautiful round shape and they will shimmer in even the slightest breeze.  In the fall, these leaves turn to a beautiful golden yellow, and large swaths of aspens with these golden leaves are a gorgeous site on the mountains.  I happen to like the bark as much as the leaves.  It is a beautiful white, with some thin horizontal marks, and some breaks revealing dark brown.  While the aspen leaves will change, the trunks are constant in their coloring.

In this image we have this changing orange and red of the maple leaves adjacent to the constant white bark of the aspens — a juxtaposition of the seasonal and the seasonless.
